Avesta
Has Google published a Horndal megawatt, or only a construction timeline? Avesta is the municipality of Google’s Horndal facility. The operator location page, checked 11 September 2026, says construction is underway after the June 2026 groundbreaking, with a target completion date of 2028. The cited Google pages do not state a campus megawatt. Falun and Borlänge stay as separate EcoDataCenter files.
Read Google’s Horndal location page first. Read the 2 June 2026 blog and press notice second for the groundbreaking wording, air cooling, heat-recovery readiness, 100 direct jobs and the EUR 5 million community fund. Read Falun and Borlänge third so EcoDataCenter rows are not copied here. Read SE3 fourth. Then ask Avesta municipality which detaljplan and building-permit papers cover the Horndal plot.
Construction underway is an operator statement after a dated groundbreaking. Target completion 2028 is an operator target; the same page says the timeline may vary. A municipal-chair quote in Google’s press notice is a welcome. It is not a detaljplan extract and not a connection agreement.
What the sources show: a named Horndal facility, Avesta as the municipal counterpart, construction after June 2026, a 2028 target, air-cooled design and heat-recovery readiness. What they do not show: a campus megawatt, a numbered grid agreement, or a reviewed permit file. Google’s 700 MW sentence is about Swedish renewable PPAs since 2013, not Horndal site power. Directory megawatts are not imported.
Common misreads: treating the 700 MW PPA sentence as Horndal IT load; treating groundbreaking as commissioning; treating a 2028 target as a contract milestone; adding Horndal to Falun’s 41 / 65 / 80 MW series; treating SE3 as reserved import on the plot.
Ask Avesta for the current detaljplan and any startbesked. Ask which network owner has issued a written position, and whether any number is on that paper. If current megawatts are still unstated on Google’s pages, leave them unknown. Point to the source gap rather than filling it from a directory.
This municipality brief proves that Avesta has a sourced Google construction with a dated start and a 2028 target. It does not prove a Horndal megawatt, a connection agreement, or that the hall is operational.
