Region Gotland's executive board allocated the property Visby Navaren 2 directly to SunSpark Nordic AB on 21 April 2026 for a data centre co-located with solar parks. The regional director is to draw up a land allocation agreement valid for two years for a board decision. The other properties the company asked for go to an open land allocation competition.
The decision is item 155 of the executive board's minutes of 21 April 2026, case RS 2026/259, taken after a vote of 12 to 1 with two abstentions. At the same meeting (item 156, case RS 2026/422) the board decided to announce a tender competition for Kometen 4, 5, 6 and 7, Plåtslagaren 8 and 9 and Hovtången 5.
According to the officer's report, the area already has a detailed plan and the land is to be transferred at a market price. No area, price, power capacity or timetable for Navaren 2 is given.
