Enersense to build two 130 kV lines between Hamre and Nässe for E.ON, linked to atNorth's Sollefteå campus

Enersense said on 3 November 2026 that it has signed a contract with E.ON Energidistribution to build two new 130 kV overhead lines between the Hamre and Nässe substations in Sollefteå. According to the company, the lines will help provide the infrastructure for atNorth's planned 300 MW data-centre campus at Hamre. Work starts in November 2026 and is due to be completed in March 2029.
The information is in a press release from Enersense International Plc published on 3 November 2026. The company has signed two contracts with E.ON Energidistribution AB. One covers two new 130 kV overhead lines, each about 2.5 kilometres long, between the Hamre and Nässe substations in Sollefteå municipality.
According to the release, the work includes 35 new steel lattice towers, removal of about 2.5 kilometres of an existing line and changes to existing infrastructure near the Nässe substation. Work is scheduled to start in November 2026. The Hamre–Nässe project is scheduled for completion in March 2029. Enersense writes that the new lines will help provide the infrastructure needed for atNorth's planned 300 MW data-centre campus at Hamre Industrial Park.
The second contract covers the rebuilding of about 12.6 kilometres of an existing 130 kV line between Hoting and Flybäcken in Strömsund municipality in Jämtland. Enersense puts the combined value of the two contracts at about EUR 15 million. The value of each contract is not stated.
In May 2026 E.ON said it had signed an agreement with atNorth on a 200 MW connection to the planned facility at Hamre. E.ON wrote then that a new distribution substation would be built at Hamre and an approximately five-kilometre 130 kV overhead line would run to the Nässe transmission-grid substation. The connection was to be completed well ahead of commissioning of the facility, which was then expected in autumn 2028. In February 2026 atNorth said the campus was expected to be operational in the first half of 2028.
The completion date of March 2029 in Enersense's release is later than both of those dates. The release does not say whether the whole line project must be finished before the data centre can take power, or whether parts of the connection can be energised earlier. It does not mention the distribution substation at Hamre.
Why it matters
It is the first public sign in the register that E.ON has contracted the line work between Hamre and the Nässe transmission-grid substation, with a start and an end date. The end date, March 2029, is later than the operating dates previously given for the campus.
What remains unknown
Whether atNorth's or E.ON's timetable has changed, how much power can be delivered before March 2029, the status of the distribution substation at Hamre, the value of the Hamre–Nässe contract and the construction status of the data centre are not stated in the release.
