CoreWeave and EcoDataCenter announce a Swedish Blackwell cluster; thousands of GPUs are not a megawatt

On 28 August 2024 EcoDataCenter said CoreWeave would host one of Europe’s first large-scale NVIDIA Blackwell clusters in Sweden, using thousands of GPUs, with the clusters set to be operational by early 2025. Falun’s municipal chair is quoted. The notice publishes no megawatt figure. A GPU headline is not a capacity row, and early 2025 is a target.

EcoDataCenter’s 28 August 2024 notice is the dated partnership source used here. It says CoreWeave announced a strategic partnership with EcoDataCenter to host one of Europe’s first large-scale NVIDIA Blackwell clusters in Sweden. CoreWeave will leverage thousands of NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs interconnected with NVIDIA Quantum-2 InfiniBand. The deployment of the clusters is set to be operational by early 2025. Those are partnership, hardware-generation and schedule sentences.

No megawatt appears. Thousands of GPUs is not a convertible IT-load figure in this register. The notice also cites CoreWeave’s wider 2024 European investment story, including a 2.2 billion dollar European investment sentence. That envelope is not a Falun construction budget and not a Swedish hall rating. Do not invent a MW total from a GPU adjective.

Geography is Sweden, with Falun named in a municipal quote rather than in a campus capacity table. Falun’s municipal executive-board chair is quoted saying CoreWeave’s choice shows that Falun is a good municipality in which to operate, and that each new data center brings jobs in Falun. That is a named-municipality political sentence. It supports attaching this note to the existing Falun project as customer context. It does not identify a building, a phase or an occupied-load reading.

Later sources must stay on their own dates. The 22 June 2026 Fortum PPA again names CoreWeave at Falun and publishes a 10 MW SE3 procurement figure. The 24 June 2026 Conapto notice is a different landlord and a different city. Neither later page rewrites the August 2024 GPU sentence into a megawatt, and the 2024 page does not confirm that the early-2025 target was met.

Hardware generation is useful and bounded. Blackwell and InfiniBand describe an intended cluster architecture. They do not prove that the cluster entered service, that it remains the current generation on the floor, or that EcoDataCenter’s Falun C/D commissioning in the 2025 annual report is the same event.

For a buyer the next documents are the current colocation or wholesale contract summary, the phase or hall identity, the capacity definition, and any later operating evidence. If 2025 is treated as a delivery year, which source documents operation? If Falun’s 41 MW is quoted beside this notice, keep the annual-report boundary and the GPU partnership on separate lines.

DataCenterSweden records 28 August 2024 as a reported Swedish AI-colo partnership linked to Falun. It does not add a megawatt, does not mark a hall operational from this page alone, and does not merge CoreWeave into a second Swedish campus.

Why it matters

A named AI-cloud tenant at a Swedish operator is a real commercial signal. It remains unusable as a capacity comparable until a source states a megawatt boundary.

What remains unknown

The 28 August notice does not publish a megawatt figure, a building identity, an occupied-load reading or evidence that the early-2025 target was met.
