atNorth confirms plans for a 300 MW Sollefteå campus; H1 2028 is a target, not operation

On 23 February 2026 atNorth said it planned to develop a 300 MW data center at Hamre Industrial Park in Långsele, Sollefteå Municipality, on a 50-hectare plot called Hamre 1, expected to be operational in the first half of 2028. The notice is an announced site-power and land plan. It is not a construction start, a commissioning certificate or a defined IT-load reading.

atNorth’s 23 February 2026 notice is the dated operator source for SWE04 used here. It confirms plans to develop a 300 MW data center in Sollefteå Municipality, located at Hamre Industrial Park in Långsele, on a 50-hectare plot (Hamre 1). It says the campus is expected to be operational in the first half of 2028 and that the park is fully zoned and prepared for development. Those are company statements. A zoned plot is not a building permit set, and an expected half-year is not an operating result.

The 300 MW wording is announced or planned site power in the operator’s own headline and body. The notice does not define the figure as IT load, facility load, contracted import or occupied load. This register therefore stores the number as the operator stated it and does not convert it into a live Swedish total. Later municipal wording about a 200 MW E.ON connection is a different instrument and a different date.

The notice places SWE04 in a Nordic platform story. atNorth says it operates eight data centers across the Nordics, with further sites described as under construction or secured, including Stockholm and Sollefteå. Platform counts are not Swedish commissioning evidence. SWE01’s separate page and SWE02’s January 2026 notice remain their own rows. Adding 12 MW, 30 MW and 300 MW across those pages would invent a portfolio total the 23 February notice does not calculate.

Sollefteå’s 5 February 2026 municipal notice, eighteen days earlier, said the municipality and atNorth intended to sign a development agreement and that Hamre 1 was already covered by a detailed development plan, with the matter to be decided by the municipal council in February. The operator notice and the municipal notice support each other as a development conversation. Neither document is a construction-start certificate.

High-density and heat-reuse language in secondary reports should be traced back to a primary sentence before it enters a Swedish cell. If a later atNorth or municipal source states liquid cooling, rack density or a heat offtake, that source can open a new row. This article does not import those details from market recaps.

For a buyer the next requests are the current plan and building-rights position, any council decision that followed the February intention, the latest written network-owner papers, and evidence of construction if construction is claimed. Do not ask the 300 MW headline to prove that Hamre is energised. Do not treat H1 2028 as late or delivered until a source documents the event.

DataCenterSweden records the 23 February 2026 notice as an announced development for SWE04. Ownership later changed at platform level on 2 September 2026; that acquisition notice does not rewrite the 300 MW sentence. Capacity, land, grid and construction stay on separate lines.

Why it matters

SWE04 is one of the largest announced Nordic campus plans in this register. The announcement is usable only if 300 MW stays labelled as planned site power and H1 2028 stays labelled as a target.

What remains unknown

The 23 February notice does not document construction start, a defined IT-load boundary, a signed grid agreement or operation. The later 200 MW E.ON wording sits in a separate municipal source.
