atNorth announces SWE02 in Stockholm: 30 MW metro site, target go-live Q4 2027

On 29 January 2026 atNorth said it would build SWE02, a 30 MW metro data center close to SWE01, scheduled to go live in the fourth quarter of 2027 and enabled for heat reuse with Stockholm Exergi. The notice is an announced site-power and design intention. It is not evidence that 30 MW is energised, occupied or delivered as heat.

atNorth’s 29 January 2026 notice is the dated operator source for SWE02. It announces plans to build an additional Stockholm data center known as SWE02, described as a 30 MW metro site built in close proximity to SWE01, which the notice says opened in March 2022. SWE02 is scheduled to go live in the fourth quarter of 2027. A scheduled quarter is a target. It is not a commissioning record.

The 30 MW wording is announced metro-site power in the operator headline. The notice does not define the figure as IT load, facility load, contracted import or occupied load. SWE01’s separate page states 12 MW of site power; that figure is not restated as a live addition in the SWE02 notice. Adding 12 and 30 because the campuses are near each other would invent a Stockholm total the source does not calculate.

Heat reuse is described as a capability, not a delivery. The notice says SWE02 will be enabled with heat-reuse capabilities, allowing excess heat to be recovered and recycled for use within the local community in collaboration with Stockholm Exergi. That sentence belongs with other Stockholm described-heat sources. It does not start a measured megawatt-hour row.

The operational concept is cluster and separation. atNorth says SWE02 will facilitate seamless cluster operations between the two campuses and offer separation of client workloads for redundancy and resilience. Those are design intentions. They do not identify customers, occupied halls or a grid agreement.

The later 2 September 2026 acquisition notice by CPP Investments and Equinix does not rewrite the 30 MW sentence or the Q4 2027 target. Ownership and project-stage cells stay apart. The SWE02 site page used in this register places the campus in Akalla and repeats the Q4 2027 schedule; it does not add a missing megawatt definition.

For a buyer the next documents are the current plan and building-rights position, Ellevio or other network-owner papers if they exist, the heat-of-take contract if one is claimed, and a later source if construction or go-live is asserted. Secondary recaps that mention a new substation should be traced to a primary sentence before they enter the file.

DataCenterSweden records 29 January 2026 as an announced development for SWE02. The project remains in development until a later primary source closes construction or operation. Thirty megawatts stay labelled as announced site power.

Why it matters

SWE02 is a dated Stockholm metro expansion with a named heat counterpart. It is decision-useful only if 30 MW and Q4 2027 stay in the announced band.

What remains unknown

The January notice does not document construction start, a defined IT-load boundary, a signed grid agreement, occupied load or delivered heat.
