atNorth’s 6 September 2023 SWE01 paper is a heat-recovery cooling design, not a 2026 megawatt-hour

On 6 September 2023 atNorth said SWE01, launched in 2022, was shortlisted for the Energy Awards in heating and cooling. The notice calls it one of the world’s first +10 MW halls whose primary cooling was designed for heat recovery, capturing 85 percent of the electricity as heat that can heat up to 20,000 homes. Designed and can are not a metered 2026 delivery.

SWE01 is on the shortlist for Physical Technology of the Year – Heating and Cooling at the 2023 Energy Awards. A shortlist is an award sentence. It is not a commissioning certificate for 2026.
The hall sentences must keep the issuer’s hedges. SWE01 launched in 2022 and is specifically designed for high-density workloads. It is one of the world’s first +10 MW data centres with a primary cooling system designed for heat recovery. This enables 85 percent of the electricity used in the data centre to be captured and passed on as heat to the district-heating system. Residual heat can heat up to 20,000 homes. Designed, enables and can are the issuer’s words. They are not a 2026 metered megawatt-hour.
CoolIT stays an alliance, not a later plant. The entry showcased atNorth’s strategic alliance with CoolIT and a bespoke direct-liquid-cooling system that further enhanced the existing infrastructure cooling process for high-density servers. Enhanced is an award-entry verb. This article does not invent a CoolIT megawatt or a 2026 retrofit date.
Neighbouring portfolio sentences stay on 2023 paper. The same notice says atNorth then operated six Nordic data centres, with a seventh site due to open in Finland in 2024. Due to open is not a Finnish commissioning stored here. SWE02’s later Akalla file and SWE01’s separate operator page that states 12 MW of site power stay on their own rows. This note does not reconcile +10 MW with 12 MW.
DataCenterSweden records 6 September 2023 as a SWE01 heat-recovery cooling-design shortlist. The SWE01 project identifier is attached. The next update would need a later primary source that names a measured 2026 heat volume. Until then, 85 percent and 20,000 homes stay design sentences — not a live offtake year.
Why it matters
An 85 percent heat-capture headline with 20,000 homes is easy to file as live Stockholm offtake. The 2023 shortlist is usable only if designed and can stay hedges.
What remains unknown
The notice does not publish a 2023 or 2026 measured heat volume, and it does not reconcile +10 MW with the later 12 MW site-power page.
