Specific environmental assessment (EIA)

The Chapter 6 activity track that includes an MKB. It is not the plan-track SEA product.

Naturvårdsverket says a specific environmental assessment is what the EU EIA Directive calls EIA, and a strategic assessment is what the SEA Directive calls SEA. If an examination is required but significant effect is not assumed, the developer still files a simpler statement. A named operator groundbreaking is not a screening decision.

Common confusions

• Stapling a plan-MKB cover onto an activity file.
• Reading “no significant effect” as no document.
