Building permit (bygglov)

Municipal permit to build or change a building. It does not replace grid or environmental decisions.

A granted bygglov is not by itself a start-of-works green light. Technical consultation, start notice and other PBL steps can still apply. Check Boverket for the current procedure.

Common confusions

• Equating bygglov with permission to energize the site.
