Verne’s 17 June 2026 Mäntsälä notice is a first-70 MW construction start, not an energised campus

On 17 June 2026 Verne said it had marked the start of construction of the first 70 MW on its Mäntsälä data-center campus with a foundation-stone ceremony. The campus will have an initial capacity of 70 MW on an approximately 10-hectare site in Kapuli. A Finnish construction start is not Horndal and not a live hall.

Verne’s 17 June 2026 notice is the dated construction-start source used here. It says Verne marked the start of construction of the first 70 MW on its data-center campus in Mäntsälä with a foundation-stone ceremony. The new campus will have an initial capacity of 70 MW. Initial capacity and start of construction are not an energization certificate and not occupied IT load.

Geography and heat language must keep their instruments. The site is in Mäntsälä’s Kapuli area, an industrial and logistics area, on approximately 10 hectares. The campus will run on renewable energy and is planned to reuse waste heat in local community heating projects. Planned reuse is not a named offtake volume, a temperature or a 2026 delivered megawatt-hour. The notice names Nivos as the company that will be supplying power to the site. Will be supplying is a named counterpart sentence. It is not a published megawatt reservation.

Workload language stays a use-case, not a tenant list. Verne says the campus is being developed to support growing demand for AI, high-performance computing, machine learning and other high-density workloads. Those are design drivers. They are not a hyperscaler contract published on this page.

Named Finnish and Swedish rows stay on their own papers. Nebius in Lappeenranta, Google Muhos, Vaala zoning, Horndal’s June 2026 groundbreaking and EcoDataCenter Falun are different issuers. Seventy megawatts in Mäntsälä does not become those envelopes. A municipal page that previously described the same campus was not reachable when this register fetched it, so this note rests on Verne’s dated release only.

DataCenterSweden records 17 June 2026 as a Finnish first-phase construction start. No Swedish project identifier is attached. The next update would need a later primary source that names an energization, a heat contract or a later phase. Until then, 70 MW stays initial capacity on a campus under construction.

Why it matters

A foundation stone plus 70 MW is easy to file as a live Finnish AI campus. The June notice is usable only if 70 MW stays initial capacity under construction — and if planned heat reuse stays unmetered.

What remains unknown

The notice does not publish an energization date, a heat-offtake volume or a signed Finnish connection megawatt.
