Vattenfall’s Gävle–Sandviken 8 September note is commissioning and restoration, not live hall megawatts

On 8 September 2026 Vattenfall Eldistribution said commissioning of named Gävle–Sandviken stations and lines was finished and remaining work was restoration. A commissioning-and-restoration note is not a reserved megawatt and not a live-hall certificate.

Vattenfall Eldistribution’s 8 September 2026 Gävle–Sandviken update is the dated commissioning source used here. The page writes that Vattenfall Eldistribution has been commissioned by Microsoft to connect planned power-intensive activity from three planned operating areas — Ersbo, Stackbo and Tuna — and the heading writes connection of data halls in Gävle and Sandviken municipalities. The 8 September line says commissioning of stations and lines is now finished, and that remaining work in the area is restoration of work surfaces along the lines. A finished commissioning sentence is not a reserved offtake and not a certificate that halls are live.

The station-and-line sentence must stay a station-and-line sentence. The page writes commissioning as done at Ängsberg Södra, Ängsberg, Stackbo and Öby, and on the Ersbo–Stackbo, Ersbo–Ängsberg Södra, Öby–Ängsberg Södra and Ängsberg–Ängsberg Södra stretches. Restoration of work surfaces is written as under way on the new Ersbo–Stackbo, Ersbo–Ängsberg Södra and Öby–Ängsberg Södra lines. Those are works facts. They are not a printed megawatt and not a live IT load.

The next-job sentence must stay a next-job sentence. The next step in this project is written as a reinvestment of an existing 130 kV line between Ersbo and Stackbo, to be taken down and replaced in the same corridor under the existing concession and agreements. Craftor is named as the contractor. Dismantling is written as starting in September or October and running for some months, after which new poles and line are to be set. The work is written as expected to finish in the second quarter of 2027. The Tuna–Stackbo / Ängsberg Södra stretch is written as having a concession in legal force, with construction waiting on a decision about Rörberg airport so that a condition in the concession can be met. A reinvestment in the same corridor, and a stretch waiting on an airport condition, are not a new reserved megawatt.

Until then, finished commissioning stays restoration work — not live hall capacity.

Why it matters

A Gävle–Sandviken commissioning headline with a named customer is easy to file as live hall power. The September note is usable only if commissioning stays commissioning — not a reserved megawatt.

What remains unknown

The note does not print a reserved megawatt, put the Tuna–Stackbo / Ängsberg Södra stretch under construction or certify that the planned halls are live.
