Tekniska verken’s 4 March 2025 notice is a 1.5 MW Mjärdevi plan, not a signed heat contract

On 4 March 2025 Tekniska verken said it would invest in an energy-efficient open colocation datacentre in Mjärdevi, Linköping, at 1.5 MW depending on use and extent, with construction start in autumn 2025 if the plan holds. Surplus heat is described as going to the local district-heating network. A concept sentence is not a measured offtake.

Tekniska verken’s Via TT notice dated 4 March 2025, 08:00 CET, is the dated heat-and-campus source used here. It says the company is investing in an energy-efficient datacentre. The site is Mjärdevi in Linköping. The product is described as open colocation. Open colocation is a utility-owned hall sentence. It is not a hyperscale campus.

The 1.5 MW figure must stay the issuer’s own qualifier. The notice says 1.5 MW depending on use and extent. Depending on use and extent is not a commissioned IT load and not a 25-year offtake volume. Construction start is given as autumn 2025 if the plan holds. If the plan holds is a condition. This article does not treat autumn 2025 as a proven start.

Heat stays a concept on this paper. Surplus heat is said to go to the local district-heating network. The notice does not print a measured megawatt-hour, a tariff year or a counterparty contract term. A residual-heat sentence is not Stockholm Exergi’s open district heating file and not Eskilstuna Energi och Miljö’s SDC notice.

Named neighbouring heat papers stay on their own files. Stockholm Exergi’s 2026 snapshot, the Akalla SWE02 heat row, GlobalConnect’s Stockholm heat notice, Glesys in Falkenberg and the DigiPlex–Exergi retrofit are different issuers and years. A Mjärdevi concept does not become those contracts.

The next update would need a later primary source that names a started build, a commissioned load or a signed heat volume. Until then, 1.5 MW stays a planned colocation figure — not a signed offtake contract.

Why it matters

A municipal 1.5 MW hall with heat into the city network is easy to file as a signed offtake. The March notice is usable only as a plan — not as measured heat.

What remains unknown

The notice does not name a heat volume, a contract term or a proven construction start. Whether autumn 2025 held is a later paper.
