Svenska kraftnät puts about two billion kronor on Uppsala stations

A 2 June 2026 press note funds Plenninge and Jälla stations inside a larger Uppsala package. A printed 500 MW enablement is not reserved hall offtake.

Svenska kraftnät's 2 June 2026 press note is the dated source used here. It puts about two billion kronor on two new stations at Plenninge and Jälla, inside a broader Uppsala package printed at about six billion kronor. The package also names two parallel 400 kV lines of about ten Swedish miles, two parallel 220 kV lines of about three kilometres, and demolition of about sixteen miles of old line. A station-funding note is not reserved hall offtake.

The same note says offtake in the area can rise by 500 MW — printed as a doubling. That 500 MW sentence must stay an enablement sentence. It is not a reserved data-centre megawatt, and it is not a named customer.

Stations are printed in service in 2029 and 2030. Those years stay a timetable. This note is not the earlier legal-force paper on the Plenninge–Odensala line already on this site. A station programme is not that line paper.

NordSyd transfer language in the same note — SE2–SE3 from about 7,300 MW to about 10,500 MW — stays a package transfer range. It is not reserved Uppsala campus power.

What remains unknown

How the printed 500 MW enablement is split between households, industry, and any halls is not in the 2 June note.
