Svenska kraftnät’s Timmersdala–Stenkullen filing is a concession amendment, not a 2033 hall reservation

On 18 August 2026 Svenska kraftnät said it had filed for an amendment of the existing network concession so the 400 kV Timmersdala–Stenkullen renewal can follow the proposed alignment. A filed amendment is not a construction start.

Svenska kraftnät’s 18 August 2026 project note is the dated filing source used here. It says the authority has prepared an alignment proposal for the 400 kV renewal between Timmersdala and Stenkullen and has sent an application to the Energy Markets Inspectorate for an amendment of the existing network concession. Construction can start only after that amendment is granted. A filing is not a granted concession.

The corridor sentence must stay a corridor sentence. The hub says the line between Timmersdala in Skövde Municipality and Stenkullen in Lerum Municipality is about 12 Swedish miles of 400 kV alternating-current overhead line. It will mainly be renewed in the existing alignment and parallel to the existing line. The named municipalities are Alingsås, Essunga, Herrljunga, Skara, Skövde, Vara, Lerum and Vårgårda, all in Västra Götaland County. The line has to stay in service during most of the work. Those are rebuild facts. They are not a hall agreement.

The package sentence must stay a package sentence. A 28 August 2025 note says Timmersdala–Stenkullen sits inside the longer Västra Götaland overhead-line package with NCC, and that construction is planned to start in 2030. The hub timetable prints construction start in 2030 and commissioning in 2033. A 7 November 2024 note says the earlier Hallsberg–Stenkullen renewal was split into two projects: Hallsberg–Timmersdala and Timmersdala–Stenkullen. Those are rebuild dates and a split. They are not reserved megawatts.

This article does not import a Gothenburg or Skaraborg hall offtake into an August amendment.

The next update would need a later primary source that names a granted amendment, a legal-force decision or a construction start. Until then, 2030 and 2033 stay rebuild rows — not reserved west-coast hall capacity.

Why it matters

A west-coast 400 kV filing that names higher offtake toward Gothenburg is easy to file as reserved hall power. The August note is usable only if the amendment stays an amendment.

What remains unknown

The hub names a filed amendment, an NCC package row and a 2030–2033 rebuild timetable. It does not print a granted concession or a reserved hall megawatt beside Timmersdala–Stenkullen.
