Porjusberget–Naalojärvi’s postponed sod is a delayed steel line, not reserved SE1 hall offtake

Svenska kraftnät’s 9 September 2026 delay note is the dated source used here. It says the timetable for the planned line between the transmission stations Porjusberget, in Jokkmokk Municipality, and Naalojärvi, near Vitåfors in Gällivare Municipality, is being reviewed. Construction start was planned for autumn 2026, but because the necessary permits are not yet in place the project cannot follow the present timetable. A revised timetable will be prepared. A postponed start is not a reserved offtake.

The permit history must stay a permit history. The same note says Svenska kraftnät filed for concession around the turn of 2023–2024. In July 2025 the Energy Markets Inspectorate granted the second-choice route; that decision was appealed to the government. In October 2025 the government quashed the appealed decision and sent the case back. In February 2026 the Inspectorate granted concession again on the second-choice route; that decision was appealed again. In September 2026 the case is still before the government. An Inspectorate grant that is under appeal is not legal force and not a shovel.

The purpose sentence must stay a purpose sentence. The project hub says the new line is planned as a 400 kV alternating-current overhead line from the existing Porjusberget station to a new station at Naalojärvi. It is written to enable a larger offtake in the whole region and to supply Hybrit — a pilot plant for fossil-free iron sponge — with electricity. The Malmfälten package text names Hybrit near Vitåfors and LKAB electrification at industrial sites outside Gällivare, Svappavaara and Kiruna. Those are steel-and-mine sentences. They are not a data-hall reservation.
