Svenska kraftnät’s northern Öresund works are a like-for-like cable swap, not new Öresund hall power

Svenska kraftnät’s 16 June 2026 Öresund note says the northern of the two 400 kV sea-cable links to Denmark is being renewed, with the same transfer capacity as today’s cables and planned commissioning in October 2026. A like-for-like swap is not extra hall offtake.

Svenska kraftnät’s 16 June 2026 Skåneleden works note is the dated Öresund source used here. It says Svenska kraftnät is renewing the cable to Denmark. This time it is the northern of the two sea-cable links. The southern and oldest link was renewed in 2020. Parts of the nature reserve are affected while the contract runs through November 2026, and Skåneleden is diverted in that period. A works window is not a reserved offtake.

The like-for-like sentence must stay a like-for-like sentence. The same note says the new link’s two cables will have the same transfer capacity as the existing ones and have essentially the same connection points and alignment as the cables already there. The about page, reviewed 22 January 2026, places the two parallel 400 kV links between Grå Läge in Helsingborg and Skibstrupgård in Denmark, names Energinet as the Danish counterpart and prints the Sweden–Denmark stretch as about 7.5 kilometres. The links entered service in 1973 and 1985. Same capacity is not extra hall megawatts.

The timetable sentence must stay a timetable sentence. The June note’s remaining-works table prints land excavation from April to November, the Skåneleden diversion from March to November, the new cable entering service in October and land and near-shore restoration from August to November 2026. The hub timetable prints construction start in the first quarter of 2026, the cable entering service in the fourth quarter of 2026 and restoration in 2027. Those are rebuild dates. They are not reserved hall power.

Named neighbouring papers stay on their own files. The Konti-Skan Connect pause, Arelion’s Nørre Nebel landing-station note, GlobalConnect’s Kattegat Lerkil–Sæby system and the reserved-connection tables are different dates and different routes. This article does not import a Danish hall reservation into an Öresund swap day.

The next update would need a later primary source that names a commissioned October cable with a printed new rating, or a reserved consumption agreement beside the landing. Until then, the swap stays like-for-like — not new Öresund hall capacity.

Why it matters

A 400 kV Öresund works headline is easy to file as extra southern-hall interconnect. The June note is usable only if the swap stays like-for-like — not new capacity.

What remains unknown

The fetched pages do not print a new megawatt rating, name a hall offtake at Grå Läge or say the October commissioning has already happened.
