Karlstadbenet: Svenska kraftnät investigates a station near Malsjö

A 14 August 2026 hub update places the southern new 400 kV station near Malsjö in Grums. An investigation is not reserved Värmland hall power.

Svenska kraftnät's Karlstadbenet hub, read on 12 September 2026, is the dated source used here. A 14 August 2026 update says the southern new station is being investigated near Malsjö, in Grums municipality. The corridor is described as about 46 Swedish miles of double 400 kV between Ragunda and Grums, with two new stations — one east of Östersund and one west of Karlstad. A station investigation is not a concession, and it is not reserved hall offtake in Värmland or Västra Götaland.

The same hub prints a cost of just over 16 billion kronor. That figure stays a printed programme cost. It is not a hall price and not a reserved megawatt.

The printed sequence puts inventories in 2026–2027, authority dialogue in winter 2025/2026, landowner consultation in winter 2026/2027, concession and construction from 2030, and service in winter 2035. Those years stay a sequence. Winter 2035 in service is not a 2026 campus.

The Malsjö sentence must stay a Malsjö sentence. It does not locate the eastern station, and it does not name a data-centre offtaker.

Why it matters

A long SE2–SE3 400 kV corridor has a named southern station investigation, years before concession.

What remains unknown

Whether Malsjö is confirmed after inventories, and where the eastern station lands, is not in the 14 August update.
