Svenska kraftnät opens consultation on the Granhammar–Överby redo

The 7 September–18 October 2026 consultation is about a redo of the last stretch of Hamra–Överby. The 3 June 2026 Energy Markets Inspectorate concession covers Hamra–Granhammar only.

The operator opened consultation on 7 September 2026, running to 18 October, on a redo of Granhammar–Överby. The 3 June 2026 Energy Markets Inspectorate concession is only for Hamra–Granhammar. A consultation on a redo is not a concession for that stretch, and it is not reserved Stockholm-region hall offtake.

The original filing described about 50 kilometres of overhead line, about three kilometres of land cable past Livgardet, and about one kilometre of sea cable in Lake Mälaren. Svenska kraftnät now prefers an all-overhead solution. The redo covers seven to eight of those fifty kilometres. Those printed lengths stay printed lengths. They are not a hall-power reservation.

The printed timetable puts construction in 2027/2028, commissioning in 2030/2031, and demolition of the old line in 2031/2032. Those years stay a timetable. A timetable is not a shovel in the ground on the redo stretch, and it is not reserved offtake.

A neighbouring Vattenfall Eldistribution row — rebuilding Överby–Kungsängen from 70 kV to 130 kV — stays a neighbouring regional-network sentence. It is not this consultation and not a campus award.

Why it matters

Stockholm-north 400 kV reinforcement is in a split-permit moment: one stretch has a concession, the last stretch is back in consultation.

What remains unknown

Whether the all-overhead redo is granted, and on what timetable after 18 October 2026, is not in this consultation paper.
