Svenska kraftnät’s Hallsberg–Timmersdala filing is a new 400 kV application, not a 2032 hall reservation

On 2 April 2026 Svenska kraftnät said it had filed a network-concession application for a new 400 kV line between Hallsberg and Timmersdala. A filed application is not a granted concession and not reserved Gothenburg or Mariestad offtake.

Svenska kraftnät’s 2 April 2026 project note is the dated filing source used here. It says the authority has prepared an alignment proposal for the new 400 kV line and has sent the network-concession application to the Energy Markets Inspectorate. Construction can start only after a concession decision has gained legal force. A filing is not a granted concession. The hub timetable still prints “application March 2026”; that older row is not used here to overwrite the 2 April filing.

The purpose sentence must stay a purpose sentence. The hub says the reinforcement is critical for the east–west flow and for higher regional demand in the Gothenburg area and Mariestad. The project is also written as important for connecting large volumes of planned onshore wind and solar in the area. Length depends on the final alignment. The named municipalities are Laxå, Hallsberg, Askersund, Töreboda, Gullspång, Mariestad and Skövde. Those are purpose and geography bullets. They are not a named hall reservation.

The package sentence must stay a package sentence. A 28 August 2025 note says Hallsberg–Timmersdala sits inside the Västra Götaland package with NCC. Construction can begin only after a concession in legal force and other necessary permits, planned for 2029. The hub timetable prints an Inspectorate decision in 2027–2028, construction start in 2029 and commissioning in 2032. A 9 May 2025 note says plans for a new Stenkälla station at Töreboda have been dropped after dialogue with the connecting party; the line project continues. Those are sequencing rows. They are not reserved megawatts.

This article does not import a reserved Gothenburg or Mariestad hall into an April filing.

The next update would need a later primary source that names a granted concession, a legal-force decision or a construction start. Until then, 2029 and 2032 stay rebuild rows — not reserved west-coast hall capacity.

Why it matters

A new 400 kV filing that names Gothenburg and Mariestad demand is easy to file as reserved west-coast hall power. The April note is usable only if the application stays an application.

What remains unknown

The hub names a 2 April filing, an NCC 2029 construction row and a dropped Stenkälla station. It does not print a granted concession or a reserved hall megawatt.
