Svenska kraftnät’s Gotland filings are a parallel permit package, not a 2030 hall energization

On 21 May 2026 Svenska kraftnät said it had filed a network-concession application with the Energy Markets Inspectorate and a water-operations application with the Land and Environment Court for the Gotland connection. A filed pair of applications is not a construction start.

It says the authority has now submitted permit applications for the Gotland connection: a network-concession application to the Energy Markets Inspectorate and a water-operations application to the Land and Environment Court. The Inspectorate reviews concession for the whole link. The court reviews water operations, which the note says cover drilling at the landfalls and laying of subsea cables in the Baltic Sea. A filing is not a granted concession.

The environmental-statement sentence must stay an environmental-statement sentence. Both applications include an environmental impact assessment that describes judged effects on nature, culture and the living environment and the steps taken to reduce them. They are not a construction certificate.
