Svenska kraftnät’s Degerträsk day is a Stegra station, not a Boden hall offtake

Svenska kraftnät’s 30 October 2025 Degerträsk note says the new 400 kV station north-east of Norra Svartbyn in Boden Municipality is now in service to enable connection of Stegra’s (formerly H2 Green Steel) steelworks and hydrogen plant. A steel-and-hydrogen station is not a reserved hall offtake.
Svenska kraftnät’s 30 October 2025 commissioning note is the dated Degerträsk source used here. It says the new 400 kV station Degerträsk is now in service. The hub writes the station as enabling connection of Stegra’s (formerly H2 Green Steel) new steelworks and hydrogen-production plant, north-east of Norra Svartbyn in Boden Municipality. A commissioned industrial station is not a reserved hall offtake.
The programme sentence must stay a programme sentence. Degerträsk is written as a pilot in Svenska kraftnät’s work to halve lead times. The hub prints investigation and authority dialogue in 2022–2023, planned construction start in 2024, planned commissioning in 2025 and project close in 2026. Those are station-programme dates. They are not a hall megawatt.
The industrial-customer sentence must stay an industrial-customer sentence. The pages name Stegra’s steel and hydrogen facilities as the connection purpose. They do not print a data-centre reservation at Degerträsk. This article does not invent one.
Related grid notes stay on their own pages. HIVE’s Boden acquisition, Letsi–Svartbyn and other Norrbotten grid notes are different dates and different counterparties. This article does not import a Boden hall purchase into a Stegra station day.
DataCenterSweden records 30 October 2025 as a Svenska kraftnät Degerträsk commissioning notice. No project identifier is attached. The next update would need a later primary source that names a reserved hall offtake at the station or a different industrial connection. Until then, Degerträsk stays a commissioned steel-and-hydrogen station — not Boden hall capacity.
Why it matters
A new 400 kV Boden-area station is easy to file as spare northern hall power. The October note is usable only if the Stegra purpose stays the purpose — not a hall reservation.
What remains unknown
The hub does not print a hall reservation at Degerträsk or a megawatt figure for the Stegra connection.
