Statnett’s 7 April Liåsen note is a southern-Oslo construction update, not reserved Oslo hall power

On 7 April 2026 Statnett said buildings were up and new towers had been mounted at Liåsen by Klemetsrud, with transformers due in the autumn and service written as winter 2027/2028. A construction-progress note is not reserved offtake.

Statnett’s 7 April 2026 Liåsen notice is the dated construction source used here. It says construction of the new transformer station at Klemetsrud in Oslo is well under way, that several of the visible building structures have been raised and that new high-voltage towers have been mounted. Liåsen is written as being established in the Søndre Nordstrand district. A construction-progress note is not reserved offtake.

The works sentence must stay a works sentence. Construction is written as having started in October 2024, with the first year mainly ground and blasting works. The new towers are written as replacing existing towers on the site. Transformers are written as being brought in by special transport in the autumn. Statnett is working for the whole station to be finished and able to enter service in winter 2027/2028. Those are progress facts. They are not a reserved megawatt.

The kit sentence must stay a kit sentence. Liåsen is written as one of the first four Statnett stations built entirely without SF6. It is also written as Statnett’s first transformer station with digitalisation out to the primary components, and as a pilot for that technology. Statnett writes that it is cooperating closely with Elvia. The notice writes that the station will increase local capacity so that more can connect to the grid. That is printed enablement language. It is not a reserved hall offtake and not a named tenant.

The next update would need a later primary source that names the transformers on site, the station in service in winter 2027/2028, or a reserved consumption agreement beside Klemetsrud. Until then, raised buildings stay a construction count — not reserved Oslo hall capacity.

Why it matters

A new southern-Oslo transformer station is easy to file as spare capital-region hall power. The April note is usable only if the construction count stays a construction count — not a reservation.

What remains unknown

The notice does not put Liåsen in service, land the autumn transformers or name a reserved hall offtake beside Klemetsrud.
