Statnett’s Eiker–Langerud–Hasle notice is an NVE notification, not reserved Oslo-area hall power

On 5 June 2026 Statnett said it had sent NVE a notification for a new 420 kV line between the Eiker, Langerud and Hasle stations, replacing today’s 300 kV circuit. A notification is the first concession step. It is not reserved offtake into Oslo.

Statnett’s 5 June 2026 Eastern Norway notice is the dated notification source used here. It says Statnett has sent NVE a notification for a new 420 kV line between the Eiker, Langerud and Hasle transformer stations. The notice writes a notification as the first step in the concession process: NVE later sends it out for hearing and holds open dialogue meetings. A notification is not a granted concession and not reserved offtake.

The geography sentence must stay a geography sentence. The measure touches Øvre Eiker, Drammen, Holmestrand, Asker, Vestby, Våler and Sarpsborg, in Akershus, Buskerud, Vestfold and Østfold. The new 420 kV line is to replace today’s 300 kV circuit, which is to be demolished once the new line is finished. One main alternative follows the existing corridor; some stretches have alternative routes. The line is written as crossing Drammensfjorden. Those are route facts. They are not reserved megawatts.

The need sentence must stay a need sentence. The notice writes a two-part need: more transfer capacity into the Oslo area and Eastern Norway, and the end of the technical life of today’s 300 kV line. It also says today’s line already has limited capacity. A need sentence is not a hall agreement. The notice does not print a hall megawatt.

The next update would need a later primary source that names an NVE hearing, a filed concession or a reserved consumption agreement beside the corridor. Until then, the June paper stays a notification — not reserved Oslo-area hall capacity.

Why it matters

A four-county 420 kV headline into the Oslo area is easy to file as spare hall power. The June notice is usable only if the NVE notification stays a notification — not a reservation.

What remains unknown

The notice does not open the NVE hearing, file a concession or name a reserved consumption agreement beside Eiker–Langerud–Hasle.
