SDC’s 3 December 2025 ENACO paper is a builder award, not EEM’s 25-year heat contract

On 3 December 2025 Scandinavian Data Centers said ENACO is the construction partner for ScandiDC I in Eskilstuna, with move-in planned in the fourth quarter of 2026. Phase one prepares the cavern for an IT load of up to 6 MW, and residual heat is planned for Eskilstuna Energi och Miljö’s network. A builder award is not the June 2026 offtake contract.

Scandinavian Data Centers’ 3 December 2025 notice is the dated builder source used here. It says ENACO becomes construction partner for the company’s first data centre, ScandiDC I, in Eskilstuna. The facility is planned to be ready for move-in during the fourth quarter of 2026. Planned is the issuer’s word. It is not a commissioning certificate.

The cavern and IT sentences must stay on this paper. The new data centre takes shape in a 6,400-square-metre rock cavern from the Second World War. In phase one the facility is prepared for an IT load of up to 6 MW. Up to is the issuer’s ceiling. This article does not rewrite 6 MW as the later heat-contract figure.

Heat stays a planned sentence. ENACO’s chief executive is quoted on an integrated heat-recovery solution that takes residual heat back to the local district-heating network. The circular model on the same page combines data centre, battery storage and heat recovery. Residual heat from operations is planned to be recovered into the local network run by Eskilstuna Energi och Miljö. Planned is not the 4 June 2026 25-year contract, and it is not a 2026 megawatt-hour.

Named Eskilstuna rows stay on their own papers. The February 2025 ecosystem-and-battery notices and EEM’s June 2026 heat contract are different dates and instruments. Fastighets AB Balder’s earlier investment is named as what enabled ScandiDC I. A builder award does not become those files.

DataCenterSweden records 3 December 2025 as an ENACO construction award for ScandiDC I. No project identifier is attached. The next update on this row would need a later primary source that names a move-in or a first heat delivery. Until then, 6 MW stays a phase-one IT ceiling beside a planned EEM heat sentence — not the June offtake.

Why it matters

A cavern campus with planned municipal heat is easy to file as the later 10 MW contract. The December award is usable only if 6 MW stays a phase-one IT ceiling.

What remains unknown

The notice does not publish a heat megawatt, a first-delivery date or a commissioning certificate for Q4 2026.
