Sandviken’s Tuna 3:1 page is an ongoing industry plan, not an adopted hall

Sandviken Municipality’s detailed-plan page for part of Tuna 3:1, updated 25 May 2026, says the purpose is businesses and industry and that server halls are a possible use. Documents are still being prepared. Consultation is expected in 2027. A possible use is not an adopted plan.

Sandviken Municipality’s ongoing-plan page for a detailed plan for part of Tuna 3:1, fetched with a 25 May 2026 update stamp, is the dated zoning source used here. It names the property Tuna 3:1 and a plan area of about 90 hectares. The stated purpose is businesses and industry. About 90 hectares is a plan-area sentence. It is not a commissioned floor plate.

Server halls stay a possible use. The municipal page lists server halls among uses that may be accommodated. Possible is the issuer’s word. The page does not name an operator, a tenant or a megawatt. This article does not import later newspaper figures onto that sentence.

Process status stays process status. The page says documents are under preparation and that consultation is expected in 2027. Under preparation is not adoption. A 2027 consultation expectation is not a building permit and not a grid reservation.

Named neighbouring papers stay on their own files. Hässleholm Nord’s June 2026 LOI agenda, Smedjebacken’s June 2025 Röbacken assignment, Borlänge’s Kvarnsveden planbesked and Ockelbo’s Vallhalla zoning notice are different municipalities and different dates. Tuna 3:1 does not become those files.

DataCenterSweden records 25 May 2026 as a Sandviken ongoing detailed-plan row for part of Tuna 3:1. No project identifier is attached. The next update would need a consultation draft, an adoption or a named applicant. Until then, server halls stay a possible industrial use — not a hall in the register.

Why it matters

A Gävleborg plan page that mentions server halls is easy to file as a sited campus. The May row is usable only if 90 hectares stays a plan area — not an adopted hall.

What remains unknown

No applicant, operator or capacity figure appears on the municipal page used here. What the 2027 consultation draft will permit is not stated.
