NVE’s Vik case page is a station concession under appeal, not a granted Vik–Ramnaberg line or reserved Bergen hall power

NVE’s 24 June 2026 Vik case page says Statnett and Sygnir have been granted permission for the Vik and Refsdal stations, and that appeals have been received. The 420 kV line is written as not decided. A station concession under appeal is not reserved offtake toward Bergen.

NVE’s Vik transformer-station case page, dated 24 June 2026 with status “appeal received”, is the dated concession source used here. It says the directorate has granted Statnett SF and Sygnir AS permission to build, own and operate the Vik and Refsdal transformer stations in Vik Municipality, Vestland. Statnett is also granted permission for road works, five permanent spoil stores and a reroute of the existing 300 kV line around the new station area. Sygnir is granted permission to take over and rebuild Hove from 300 kV to 132 kV. Statkraft Energi AS is granted permission to change the grid ties of the Refsdal, Målset and Hove power plants. An appeal-received stamp is not a final concession.

The line sentence must stay a line sentence. NVE writes that it is not now taking a position on the line routes Statnett and Sygnir have applied for. Statnett is also applying for a new 420 kV line from Ramnaberg to the new Vik station. Hearing comments on the routes created a need for further studies, so the stations and related works were decided first. Those are process facts. They are not a granted 23-kilometre line and not a reserved megawatt.

The hub sentence must stay a hub sentence. Statnett’s Vik–Ramnaberg project hub is still written as an application: a 420 kV line of 23 kilometres from the Sognefjorden span at Ramnaberg to the applied-for Vik station in Ovrisdalen, a GIS station to replace Refsdal switching station and Hove transformer station, and a fenced area of about 21,000 square metres. The hub writes the May 2023 application and step two of the Bergen-area plan. Application language on a hub page is not a reserved Bergen hall.

This article does not import a fjord-span stringing week or a reserved Bergen offtake into a 24 June station-concession page that still has appeals on file.

The next update would need a later primary source that names the appeals as closed, a decision on the 420 kV line, or a reserved consumption agreement toward Bergen. Until then, the station permission stays under appeal — not reserved Bergen hall capacity.

Why it matters

A Vestland station concession on the road toward Bergen is easy to file as spare hall power. The June case page is usable only if the station permission stays under appeal — and the line stays undecided.

What remains unknown

The case page does not close the appeals, decide the 420 kV Vik–Ramnaberg line or name a reserved consumption agreement toward Bergen.
