Fingrid’s Metsälinja reinforcement page is 2026 field work, not reserved central-Finland hall power

Fingrid’s Metsälinja reinforcement page writes field work from autumn 2025 through late 2026 and general design finishing in 2027, with construction 2028–2030. Field work is not reserved offtake.

Fingrid’s Metsälinja reinforcement project page is the dated field-work source used here. It writes a new line of about 252 kilometres between the Nuojuankangas substation in Vaala and Juurikkaperä in Multia, across Vaala, Siikalatva, Haapavesi, Kärsämäki, Haapajärvi, Reisjärvi, Pihtipudas, Kinnula, Karstula, Saarijärvi and Multia. A 252-kilometre design page is not reserved hall offtake.

The endpoint sentence must stay an endpoint sentence. The EIA procedure is written as completed in 2024, with the coordinating authority’s reasoned conclusion in June 2024. After that EIA, the Central Finland end was re-examined because transmission needs changed when electricity consumption in southern Finland grew faster than expected. The Central Finland endpoint was moved from Vihtavuori in Laukaa to Toivila in Jämsä. That move stays a grid-planning sentence. It is not a named hall.

The timetable sentence must stay a timetable sentence. Field studies and general design needed for construction are written as 2026–2027. Construction is written as 2028–2030. General design is split into Juurikkaperä–Pysäysperä and Pysäysperä–Nuojuankangas, with Enersense PN Oy named for that work. Field work is written as starting in autumn 2025 and ending in late 2026, with general design finishing in 2027. A late-2026 field-work close is not a live central-Finland hall.
