Fingrid’s Harjulinja note is an EIA-programme opinion, not reserved central-Finland hall power

Fingrid’s Harjulinja page writes that the permitting and supervisory authority issued its opinion on the EIA programme on 2 February 2026. An opinion on a programme is not a construction decision and not reserved offtake.

Fingrid’s Harjulinja (Murtoperä–Kauppila) project page is the dated EIA-programme source used here. It says Fingrid is planning a new 2×400+110 kV line between a new substation at Murtoperä in Pyhäjärvi and a new substation at Kauppila in Kangasniemi. The EIA programme was completed in November 2025 and was on display from 17 November to 31 December 2025. The permitting and supervisory authority issued its opinion on 2 February 2026. An opinion on a programme is not a construction decision.

The length sentence must stay a length sentence. If built, the line is written as about 174–255 kilometres. In the report stage the routes under study total about 594 kilometres, of which about 496 kilometres would sit in a new corridor and about 98 kilometres beside existing lines. Five alternatives are written, of which one would be built. A separate EIA for the Kangasniemi–Kouvola stretch is written as starting in 2026. Those are package facts. They are not a reserved hall megawatt.

The timetable sentence must stay a timetable sentence. Fingrid writes that it will decide on further planning and construction after the 2025–2026 EIA. Field studies and general planning needed for construction are written as 2028–2030. Construction is written as 2030–2032. The report is written as expected late in 2026. A 2030–2032 construction window after an EIA is not a live central-Finland hall.

The next update would need a later primary source that names the late-2026 report, a construction decision, or a reserved consumption agreement beside the 174–255 kilometres. Until then, the February opinion stays a programme paper — not reserved central-Finland hall capacity.

Why it matters

A 174–255 kilometre central-Finland 2×400+110 kV headline is easy to file as spare hall power. The February page is usable only if the programme opinion stays a programme opinion — not a reservation.

What remains unknown

The page does not publish the late-2026 report, decide construction or name a reserved hall offtake beside Harjulinja.
