Fingrid’s 1 June connection-application expansion is a process rule, not a signed Finnish hall queue

Fingrid’s 27 April 2026 notice says the connection-agreement application procedure expands to industrial-scale generation from 1 June 2026. A wider application gate is not a signed offtake and not the already-filed Finnish data-centre agreement totals.

The application procedure that began with large industrial consumption and storage in southern Finland, and later the whole country, expands from 1 June 2026 to industrial-scale generation. A wider gate is not a signed hall agreement.

The threshold sentence must stay a threshold sentence. The hub writes that applications cover consumption sites, power plants and storage of at least 2 MW everywhere in Finland except Åland. Temporary lower regional thresholds are marked on a map. An application asks Fingrid to approve making a connection agreement, or raising the power in an existing one, including connections through other network companies. Those are process facts. They are not reserved megawatts.

The maturity sentence must stay a maturity sentence. An application may be sent only when the project has a legally valid plan and a legally valid building or construction permit, and — if a connection line of at least 110 kV is needed — when an expropriation application for that line has been filed, or when an Energy Authority project permit and a right to use the corridor are shown. Fingrid’s answer is valid for two months; if no agreement is made the application lapses. The application is free. Applications are handled confidentially, but Fingrid may publish anonymised summaries. A two-month answer is not a signed queue place.

The next update would need a later primary source that names a signed generation or demand agreement, a published anonymised summary with a usable total, or a reserved Finnish hall offtake that is not only the application rule. Until then, the June expansion stays a process gate — not a signed Finnish hall queue.

A nationwide Finnish application headline is easy to file as a live hall queue. The June rule is usable only if the gate stays a gate — not a signed offtake.
