Ellevio’s Skaraborg snapshot is a three-layer timetable, not a Lidköping reservation

Ellevio’s Skaraborg regional-network page, last updated 28 August 2026 with a snapshot dated 19 August 2026, says no larger new production can be granted beyond projects already started. An area concession up to 36 kV is not reserved offtake for Airon’s Kartåsen factory.

Ellevio’s regional-grid page for Skaraborg, fetched with a last-updated stamp of 28 August 2026, is the dated queue source used here. The connection-case snapshot printed on the page is 19 August 2026. The page says some offtake growth and ordinary community development can be handled where local capacity exists. Interest in larger offtake is high. Every case is assessed by place and local network. A snapshot is not a reservation.

The production sentence must stay a production sentence. For now, no larger new production connections can be granted beyond projects already started. Larger connections depend on reinforcements in the overlying networks and in Ellevio’s own regional network. Ellevio is a Vattenfall Eldistribution customer in this area, and Vattenfall is a Svenska kraftnät customer. In parts of Skaraborg both the regional network and the transmission grid are strained, so connections are tested against all three layers.

The concession and later-grid rows stay later-grid rows. Ellevio says it holds an area concession for the regional network covering land and sea cables up to and including 36 kV, which can shorten the permit stage by about six months where it applies. Svenska kraftnät is said to plan two new 400 kV lines between Hallsberg and Timmersdala in 2029–2035, one of them via Moholm, as a condition for connecting larger industry and offtake in Skaraborg. If Vattenfall’s application to Svenska kraftnät is approved, Vattenfall judges that new large-scale injection can connect at the earliest in 2032–2036. Those are operator dates. They are not a hall agreement.

Named neighbouring papers stay on their own files. Lidköping’s June 2025 Airon notice, Ellevio’s Halland, Bohuslän, Dalarna, Gävleborg, Värmland and northern-cluster snapshots, Vattenfall’s June 2026 capacity map and Vattenfall’s November 2025 Västra Götaland allocation notice are different issuers and different dates. A Skaraborg timetable does not become a 20 MW Kartåsen reservation.

DataCenterSweden records 19 August 2026 as an Ellevio Skaraborg regional-network snapshot. No project identifier is attached. The next update would need a later primary source that names a consumption reservation, a signed connection or a commissioned offtake in Skaraborg. Until then, the area concession and the 2032–2036 injection window stay grid sentences — not reserved Lidköping hall capacity.

Why it matters

A Skaraborg page next to a 20 MW AI-factory notice is easy to file as reserved offtake. The August snapshot is usable only if production stays closed and Airon stays on its own municipal paper.

What remains unknown

The fetched page does not print a reserved offtake megawatt, a named datacentre applicant or a signed connection for Lidköping or Kartåsen.
