Ellevio’s Njutånger first sod is a Gävleborg station start, not reserved 750 MW hall power

On 17 October 2025 Ellevio recorded the first sod for a new network station at Njutånger outside Hudiksvall, next to Svenska kraftnät’s transmission-station works. The 750 MW figure printed that day is enabling capacity for the Gävleborg system — not a reserved hall.

Ellevio’s 17 October 2025 Njutånger note is the dated first-sod source used here. It says the new network station outside Hudiksvall will be a hub in the future regional grid. The ceremony stood on what will become part of the transformer building, where two transformers of 380 tonnes each are to be installed. The site borders Svenska kraftnät’s ongoing transmission-station works. A first sod is not reserved offtake.

The 750 MW sentence must stay an enabling sentence. Ellevio’s chief executive is quoted as saying the sod was to add 750 MW of electricity to the system in Gävleborg, compared with six times the town of Gävle, and that Ellevio and Svenska kraftnät together have a SEK 68 billion investment programme in Gävleborg through 2045. Those are system-enablement figures. They are not a named hall reservation.

The programme-neighbour sentence must stay a programme-neighbour sentence. Svenska kraftnät’s later concession filings for Vattjom–Njutånger and Njutånger–Mehedeby are different dates and different legal rows. This article does not treat a regional-station sod as those 400 kV filings.
