Ellevio’s Bohuslän snapshot names datacentres as demand, not as reserved offtake

Ellevio’s Bohuslän regional-network page, last updated 28 August 2026 with a snapshot dated 19 August 2026, lists datacentres among growing offtake needs while saying applications are mainly storage and solar. A demand word is not a named campus queue.

Smaller offtake tied to community growth can often be handled in existing capacity. Larger connections are assessed one by one against Ellevio, Vattenfall Eldistribution and Svenska kraftnät. A snapshot is not a reservation.

The demand sentence must stay a demand sentence. Transfer need in Bohuslän, including Orust and Tjörn, is judged to rise in 2026–2034. The page names growing offtake from housing, services, smaller industry, retail centres and also datacentres. Requests and applications consist mainly of injection from energy storage and solar. A listed demand type is not a named applicant and not a reserved megawatt.

Svenska kraftnät’s Skogssäter–Ingelkärr and Ingelkärr–Stenkullen 400 kV works are listed for 2026–2031, with further west-coast transmission rebuilds in 2031–2035 including Hallsberg–Timmersdala, Hallsberg–Moholm–Timmersdala, Timmersdala–Stenkullen and the Karlstad leg. Ellevio names Tanum–Strömstad reinforcement in 2028–2032, Grebbestad and Fjällbacka works in 2027–2028, Orust and Tjörn station works in 2026–2030, and new 130 kV lines from the mainland to Tjörn in 2031–2033. Those are project dates. They are not a hall agreement.

The island and north-coast judgements stay judgements. For Orust and Tjörn, Ellevio says residual limits against the overlying network are not expected to remain at the end of the period and are expected to be built away around 2033 on the present timetable. For northern Bohuslän a residual risk against the overlying network may remain, and Ellevio says it keeps a close dialogue with Vattenfall Eldistribution. Injection remains strongly dependent on the overlying owner. The snapshot widget must not be copied: the fetched footer still names Värmland/Närke.

The next update would need a later primary source that names a reserved offtake, a signed connection or a commissioned hall on the coast. Until then, the datacentre word stays a demand example — not reserved island or mainland hall capacity.

Why it matters

A Bohuslän page that prints the word datacentre is easy to file as a coastal campus queue. The August snapshot is usable only if that word stays a demand example — not a named reservation.
