Coromatic’s Conapto award is a Stockholm design-and-build contract, not a new reserved megawatt

On 17 February 2026 Coromatic said E.ON-owned Coromatic had been awarded a 2.6 billion-krona contract by Conapto for design, delivery and construction of AI power and cooling in the Stockholm region. A contractor award is not a grid reservation.

Coromatic’s 17 February notice, dated by Dagens industri on 17 February 2026, is the dated contract source used here. It says Coromatic has been awarded a contract worth 2.6 billion kronor by Conapto. The agreement is written as the most extensive contract to date for E.ON-owned Coromatic. A contract value is not a reserved offtake megawatt.

The scope sentence must stay a scope sentence. Conapto currently operates four data centres in the Stockholm region. Under the new agreement Coromatic is responsible for a complete solution in design, delivery and construction, prepared for the power and cooling need of modern AI processes. Chief executive Peter Neuberg and Conapto chief executive Håkan Björklund describe continued trust and an expanded partnership. Those are contractor-and-customer rows. They do not name which hall or how many megawatts.

The heat-design sentence must stay a heat-design sentence. The notice says Conapto’s data centres run on 100 percent fossil-free and renewable electricity. A central part of the development is to capture surplus heat and return it to the district-heating network. Head of datacenter solutions Thomas Wunger describes a design with air and liquid cooling, a focus on power-usage effectiveness, and energy recovery so waste heat can warm other buildings. That is a design sentence. It is not a named Exergi contract on this page.

Named neighbouring papers stay on their own files. This article does not import those megawatts or those heat contracts into the 17 February award.

The next update would need a later primary source that names the hall, a reserved offtake, a signed heat contract or a commissioned AI phase. Until then, 2.6 billion kronor stays a contractor sum — not reserved Stockholm hall capacity.

Why it matters

A 2.6 billion-krona AI headline in Stockholm is easy to file as new reserved hall power. The February award is usable only if the contractor scope stays contractor scope.

The notices do not name the hall, a reserved offtake megawatt, a signed district-heat contract or a commissioning date.
