Bitdeer’s Tydal lease day is a printed colo contract, not a live Norwegian hall

On 4 August 2026 Bitdeer said its subsidiary Tydal Data Center AS had signed a 16-year colocation lease and services agreement with Volta Tydal AS for 121 IT MW at the Tydal campus. A signed lease is not a commissioned hall.

It says Tydal Data Center AS has executed a 16-year colocation lease and services agreement with Volta Tydal AS, a Volta subsidiary, for the Tydal campus in Norway. A signed lease is not a commissioned hall.

The megawatt sentence must stay a printed-contract sentence. The notice writes 121 IT MW of contracted critical load, supported by an estimated 133 gross MW, across two equal-sized phases and four data halls. Phase 1 is targeted for 31 December 2026 and phase 2 for 31 March 2027. Those are commencement targets. They are not a measured live load.

The money sentence must stay a company-claim sentence. The same notice prints approximately 4.7 billion US dollars of contracted revenue over the initial 16-year base term, with an eight-year renewal option that would raise a printed total-contract figure to about 8.0 billion dollars. It also writes a no-fee tenant termination right at ten years. Those are printed commercial claims. They are not proven cash received and not a guarantee that the full term runs.

Why it matters

A 121 IT MW Norwegian lease headline that also prints a multi-billion-dollar revenue claim is easy to file as a live Arctic hall. The August notice is usable only if the lease stays a lease — not a commissioned campus.

What remains unknown

The notice does not say a hall is already live, prove the printed revenue has been received or name the end customer beyond an unnamed AI lab.
