Binero’s Vallentuna purchase is a property transfer, not an AI megawatt reservation

On 31 March 2026 Binero Group said it had bought the Vallentuna data-centre property it had rented from E.ON since the jointly built 2018 hall. A 4,700 m² purchase with an undisclosed price is not reserved campus power.

Binero’s 31 March 2026 notice is the dated property source used here. It says Binero Group has acquired E.ON’s data-centre property at the jointly built 2018 hall in Vallentuna outside Stockholm, which Binero had rented from E.ON. The purchase covers the building and the plot of 4,700 square metres. Binero and E.ON agreed not to publish the price. A completed property sentence is not a new grid reservation.

The control sentence must stay a control sentence. Binero says the purchase gives flexibility for future AI and digital-resilience needs, cost control, full operational control, consolidation, predictability and development in line with the company’s direction. The hall is described as built to a 2N data-centre standard with full redundancy on critical systems, and as meeting SSF 200 protection class 3. Those are building-standard rows. They are not occupied IT load.

The heat-contract sentence must stay a heat-contract sentence. In connection with the purchase Binero takes over E.ON’s existing surplus-heat agreement, which the notice calls a stable revenue stream with room for later growth. An inherited heat contract is not a new district-heat deal and not a statement that the hall has grown. The notice also says that besides planned maintenance there are no major known repair or investment needs in the next three to five years.

Later intention stays later intention. Chief executive Annika Rydström calls the purchase a natural growth step and looks ahead to developing and expanding the centre to meet future needs, especially in AI. That is an operator intention. It is not a reserved megawatt. Named neighbouring papers — Ellevio’s Stockholm snapshot, including Vallentuna as a local-grid municipality fed by Vattenfall, and other Stockholm campus notes — stay on their own files. This article does not import a megawatt from another newspaper.

DataCenterSweden records 31 March 2026 as a Binero purchase of the Vallentuna property from E.ON. No project identifier is attached. The next update would need a later primary source that names a reserved offtake, a hall expansion permit or a commissioned AI phase. Until then, 4,700 square metres stays a property measure — not reserved Vallentuna hall capacity.

Why it matters

A bought urban hall plus an AI sentence is easy to file as new reserved power. The March notice is usable only if the property transfer stays a property transfer.

What remains unknown

The notice does not print a purchase price, a reserved offtake megawatt, a new grid agreement or a commissioned AI expansion in Vallentuna.
