Barings’ 1 July 2026 Vanda 3 paper is a 30 MW Ellevio upgrade, not a named-operator hall

On 1 July 2026 Barings said it had secured a ten-year lease extension with an unnamed global data-centre operator at Vanda 3 in Kista, and an additional 30 MW of power capacity with Ellevio. Works to connect the asset are already under way. Thirty megawatts is an upgrade sentence. It is not a named tenant and not SWE02.

Barings’ 1 July 2026 notice is the dated campus-power source used here. It says Barings secured a ten-year lease extension with a global data-centre operator at its Vanda 3 asset in Kista, Stockholm, and secured an additional 30 MW of power capacity. The newly agreed upgrade with Ellevio increases total capacity by a further 30 MW, with infrastructure works already under way to connect the asset to the grid. Additional and further are Barings’ words. They are not occupied IT load.

The building sentences must stay split. Vanda 3 is a mixed-use asset of data centre, logistics, storage and industrial uses. The asset totals approximately 65,000 square metres, and the unnamed operator occupies about 15,000 square metres. Barings is targeting the addition of 25,000 square metres of new building rights in 2027. Approximately, about and targeting are not a 2026 commissioning. This article does not add 15,000 and 25,000 into a new hall.

The operator stays unnamed in the primary notice. Secondary write-ups that guess a Kista colocation brand are not used here. Digital Realty’s STO6 sentence on Vandagatan stays on its own paper. atNorth’s SWE02 Akalla announcement stays on its own row. A landlord upgrade does not become those identities.

Named Swedish power rows stay separate. Ellevio’s Dalarna and Gävleborg snapshots, Conapto’s Stockholm 4 and Stockholm 5 papers and Svenska kraftnät’s county tables are different issuers. Thirty megawatts at Vanda 3 does not become those files.

DataCenterSweden records 1 July 2026 as a Kista landlord power-and-lease notice. No project identifier is attached. The next update would need a later primary source that names the operator, a commissioning or a measured load. Until then, 30 MW stays an Ellevio upgrade beside an unnamed tenant.

Why it matters

A 30 MW Kista headline is easy to assign to a named Stockholm operator. The July notice is usable only if the tenant stays unnamed and 30 MW stays an Ellevio upgrade — not SWE02 or STO6.

What remains unknown

The notice does not name the operator, does not define whether 30 MW is IT or facility power, and does not publish a commissioning date.
