Bahnhof winds down Elementica and starts Bahnhof Bunker; a rock-cavern purchase is not 12 MW

On 24 September 2025 Bahnhof said it was winding down the Elementica project and concentrating on Bahnhof Bunker, a 6,000-square-metre rock cavern in central Gothenburg. Construction was said to have started in September 2025, with an opening in 2026. The 11 November 2025 interim report adds the acquisition of Bunkeberget Park AB and three hectares above ground. That is a land-and-strategy notice, not a megawatt.

Bahnhof’s 24 September 2025 notice is the dated strategy source used here. It says Bahnhof Bunker is being built deep underground in central Gothenburg, enclosed by granite and gneiss. The rock cavern is 6,000 square metres and is described as designed for advanced network infrastructure and growing AI compute. With that establishment, the Elementica project is wound down. Construction of Bahnhof Bunker started in September 2025, with an opening in 2026. Started and opening are company schedule words. They are not a commissioning certificate.

The 11 November 2025 interim report is the land-deal companion. In Gothenburg, Bahnhof acquired Bunkeberget Park AB, which owns a larger rock cavern near central Gothenburg — 6,000 square metres, and three hectares above ground. The cavern is described as SKF’s former cold-war industrial bunker, now being converted into a data center. The report also says that, given the changed security situation, Stockholm property assets for the former Elementica project will be divested during 2026. A planned 2026 land sale is not a completed sale in this note.

No megawatt appears in the September notice. The 12 MW total-power sentence arrives only on the 21 January 2026 specification page stored on its own row. Do not back-fill 12 MW into September or November. The Q3 report’s availability and EMP-protection language is a design claim for a hall still being built. It is not an operating result.

Elementica’s wind-down is a Stockholm land story, not a Gothenburg capacity story. Cancelling a planned inner-city campus does not create spare SE3 transmission capacity and does not update Pionen or Thule. Sharing a corporate issuer does not merge the files. The January cooling and heat-recovery specification is a later paper.

DataCenterSweden records 24 September 2025 as a Swedish operator strategy and Gothenburg land-conversion notice. No project identifier is attached. The next update would need a later primary source that documents the 2026 Elementica land sale, an energization or a defined power boundary — not another fortress headline.

Why it matters

A cancelled Stockholm campus plus a Gothenburg cavern is easy to rewrite as moved megawatts. The September and November papers are usable only if Elementica, 6,000 square metres and the later 12 MW specification stay on separate lines.

What remains unknown

The 2025 notices do not publish a megawatt, a completed 2026 Elementica land sale, an energization date or a heat offtaker.
