Bahnhof’s 21 January 2026 Bunker page states 12 MW total power and direct water cooling; that is a specification, not operation

On 21 January 2026 Bahnhof published a technical specification for Bahnhof Bunker in central Gothenburg: 6,000 square metres under 30 metres of rock, 12 MW of total power capacity, direct water cooling with private CDUs, and heat recovery. A specification on an operator page is not a commissioning certificate and not a Pionen megawatt.

Bahnhof’s 21 January 2026 page is the dated operator source used here. Under the heading technical specification it lists 6,000 square metres protected by 30 metres of solid rock, 12 MW of total power capacity, direct water cooling with private CDUs, heat recovery, 100 percent renewable energy, and a location in central Gothenburg. Those are company specification sentences. They are not a measured IT-load reading and not a grid agreement.

Twelve megawatts must keep its wording. The page says total power capacity. It does not define that figure as IT load, facility load or another boundary. Direct water cooling with private CDUs is a cooling-design claim. Heat recovery is named without a municipal offtaker, a start date or a delivered megawatt-hour. This register does not invent a Gothenburg district-heat buyer from that word.

Earlier Bahnhof papers stay on their own rows. The 24 September 2025 notice said construction started in September 2025 with an opening in 2026 and that Elementica was being wound down. The 11 November 2025 interim report said Bahnhof had acquired Bunkeberget Park AB, owner of a 6,000-square-metre rock cavern plus three hectares above ground. Those are land and schedule sentences. They do not restate 12 MW. The January page does not say the hall is in operation.

Pionen and Thule remain the inner-Stockholm halls already in this register. They have no megawatt on the cited colocation pages. The Q3 report’s separate sentence that all Bahnhof data centers, including the three large inner-Stockholm sites, have been upgraded with new cooling machines for efficient operation and heat recovery is a group cooling claim. It is not this 12 MW specification and not an Exergi delivery ledger.

DataCenterSweden records 21 January 2026 as a Gothenburg specification notice. No project identifier is attached, because this register has no Bunker row. The next update would need a later primary source that names energization, a heat offtaker or a defined IT-load boundary. Until then, 12 MW stays total power capacity in the operator’s wording.

Why it matters

A 12 MW rock-cavern specification is easy to file as a live west-coast campus. The January page is usable only if total power, direct water cooling and heat recovery stay unspecified as IT load or delivered heat.

What remains unknown

The January page does not publish an operating certificate, a grid agreement, a defined IT-load figure or a named heat offtaker.
