atNorth says the Kesko FIN02 heat link went live in November 2025; a store is not a city network

On 25 March 2026 atNorth said its heat-reuse partnership with Kesko Corporation went live in November 2025 and is delivering waste heat from FIN02 in Espoo to a neighbouring Kesko store. The collaboration is expected to supply almost all of that store’s heating. Almost all is a store sentence. It is not Helsinki district heat and not a Swedish megawatt-hour.

atNorth’s 25 March 2026 notice is the dated operator source used here. It says the partnership with Kesko Corporation went live in November 2025 and is delivering waste heat generated at FIN02 in Espoo to a neighbouring branch of the retailer. Went live is an operating claim about that store link. It is not a city-wide offtake and not a Swedish planning decision.

The volume sentences must keep their store boundary. The collaboration will supply almost all of the heating required by the adjacent Kesko store. Recycled heat from FIN02 is expected to reduce Kesko’s emissions from district-heating use by approximately 200 tons of CO₂ equivalent per year, around 0.9 percent of Kesko’s district-heating emissions. Approximately, expected and around are atNorth’s words. Two hundred tons is not IT load and not a reserved Finnish or Swedish import.

Named neighbouring heat papers stay separate. Helen’s 31 August 2026 OnZero agreement is a Helsinki district-heating contract with a 2027 schedule. Fortum’s May 2026 Espoo and Kirkkonummi heat-pump notice is a utility construction paper. Stockholm Exergi, Vestforbrænding and Selected Group sit on other rows. A live store link in Espoo does not close those files and does not become SWE01’s Exergi sentence.

FIN02 is a Finnish metro hall. The notice also restates other atNorth heat collaborations, including Vestforbrænding in Denmark and Stockholm Exergi in Sweden. Restating those names does not merge a store delivery, a Danish network paper and a Swedish district-heat page into one cell. This article records only the Kesko live date.

DataCenterSweden records November 2025 as the operator-stated start of a store-level heat delivery, published on 25 March 2026. No Swedish project identifier is attached. The next update would need a later primary source that names a measured volume or a different offtaker. Until then, almost all heating remains a Kesko-store sentence.

Why it matters

A live heat delivery is the strongest reuse paper. It is usable only if November 2025, almost all and 200 tons stay attached to one Espoo store — and if no Swedish hall inherits the tonnes.

What remains unknown

The notice does not publish a measured 2026 megawatt-hour, a temperature or a Swedish offtaker.
