YIT’s 21 July 2026 Kouvola contract is a FIN04 construction paper; 430 MW stays a campus envelope

On 21 July 2026 YIT said it had agreed with atNorth to design and build a data center at Myllykoski in Kouvola as part of FIN04. The project value is approximately EUR 300 million. Construction would begin immediately, with completion expected by the end of 2027. The planned total capacity of the entire campus is 430 megawatts. That is not an energised first hall and not a Swedish megawatt.

YIT’s 21 July 2026 investor notice is the dated contractor source used here. It says YIT and atNorth agreed on the design and construction of a new data center in Myllykoski, Kouvola, as part of atNorth’s FIN04 campus. The value is approximately EUR 300 million, to be recorded in YIT’s third-quarter 2026 order book. The scope comprises design, CSA, MEP and commissioning. Construction will begin immediately. Expected completion is the end of 2027. Expected is not a commissioning certificate.

The capacity sentence must keep its campus wording. YIT says the planned total capacity of the entire campus is 430 megawatts. atNorth’s undated Myllykoski page repeats 430 MW of campus power capacity, 45 hectares, and a path to several hundred additional megawatts. It also says the site will be ready for operation in the first half of 2026. First-half 2026 readiness and end-2027 contractor completion are different schedules on different papers. This register records the split. It does not pick a live date.

A later contractor paper sits beside the July notice. On 28 August 2026 YIT said it would be main contractor for another facility, FIN04A1, including MEP works. The parties agreed not to disclose that contract value. A second building award is not a second 430 MW and not proof that the July hall is energised. Heat language must keep its paper. The July notice says the hall has the capability to enable reuse of excess heat, for example in the local district-heating network. The undated operator page names a KSS heating plant as the recycle path. Capability and a named plant are not a dated delivery start.

FIN04 is a Finnish campus. It does not become SWE04, Haugaland NOR01, Varde DEN02 or Google’s September 2026 Finland envelope. Those papers stay on their own rows. A buyer who pastes 430 MW into a Dalarna or SE2 brochure is inventing a geography the Kouvola notices did not publish.

DataCenterSweden records 21 July 2026 as a Finnish construction-contract notice for FIN04, with the 28 August building as a later contractor update. No Swedish project identifier is attached. The next update would need a later primary source that names an energization, a heat offtake start or a different campus figure. Until then, 430 MW stays a planned campus envelope.

Why it matters

A contractor start and a 430 MW campus figure are easy to file as a live Finnish AI hall. The July notice is usable only if end-2027 stays expected and 430 MW stays a whole-campus plan — not a Swedish spare-power cell.

What remains unknown

The contractor papers do not publish an occupied-load reading, a signed Finnish connection agreement, a heat-delivery start or a Swedish site.
