Reading order

Write the labour object before you write a civic benefit sentence. Construction trades on a peak, standing operations, contractors on site, fly-in specialists and a training programme are five rows. Microsoft’s PDF itself splits current operations employees, peak construction jobs and hours, and a later projection of employees and contractors. Keep those three numbers in three cells. Adding them invents a fourth number this register will not store.

Then name the employer and the town. Microsoft’s cited Sweden materials name Gävle, Sandviken and Staffanstorp. The Academy page names Sandviken Municipality and Sandbacka Science Park as education partners. Meta’s Luleå page is a different operator and a different municipality. AWS Europe (Stockholm) launch pages in this register do not publish a municipal staff file. A jobs sentence that does not name the employer is a slogan.

Then name the paper class: a dated operator PDF, a careers page, a municipal training announcement, or a press aim. A groundbreaking photo is not a roster. A hydropower sentence is not a shift plan. ISP foreign-investment screening does not hire technicians.

Why a jobs sentence is several files

A data hall is a 24-hour plant. Standing operations therefore ask for shift coverage, electrical and mechanical competence, security contractors and vendors who can reach the plot in winter. Microsoft’s PDF lists role families that include campus and people management, learning and development, IT operations, mechanical and electrical engineers, security contractors, building maintenance, critical environments, and construction trades such as electricians, plumbers, carpenters, steel and concrete workers. That list is Microsoft’s published vocabulary for its Swedish campuses. It is not a statutory Swedish occupational standard and not a headcount by role.

Construction labour is front-loaded and temporary. The same PDF’s 5.3 million hours and more than 1,299 peak-construction jobs are an operator estimate for new halls. They expire when the crane leaves. Treating them as permanent municipal employment invents a duration the PDF does not give as a standing roster. The 145 current employees and the 561 end-2026 projection are different dates and different bases — employees now versus employees and contractors later. Keep the labels Microsoft wrote.

Training is a third file. The Datacenter Academy page describes a nine-month programme, hands-on lab learning, mentoring, scholarships and internships for those who qualify, and says the training is open to all. Sandviken Municipality and Sandbacka Science Park are named as local education partners. Completion of a programme is not a job offer unless a later source says so. A municipality that hosts an academy is not thereby the network owner or the building committee for the next hall.

Other Swedish files in this register do not fill the staff cell. atNorth SWE01 publishes site power and liquid cooling, not a roster. EcoDataCenter’s Falun megawatt rows are capacity rows. evroc’s Arlandastad notice is land and a GPU envelope. GleSYS’s Falkenberg heat start is a heat delivery. Meta’s Luleå page supports an operational campus from 2013 with outdoor-air cooling; it does not, in the cited text used here, publish a current headcount that this register can store. Foreign-investment screening, detaljplan and grid connection do not hire.

What named primary sources show

Microsoft’s April 2024 PDF is the dated quantitative colour for one operator’s Swedish campuses. It states 145 people currently employed, an estimate of approximately 5.3 million work hours and more than 1,299 jobs during peak construction of the new datacenters, and a projection of 561 full-time employees and contractors by the end of 2026 across operational facilities. It also lists the role families quoted above. This register stores those figures as operator-PDF claims. It does not verify them against a payroll, and it does not copy them onto another company’s campus.

The Datacenter Academy page is the dated training-product colour. It names a nine-month programme, a collaboration with Sandviken Municipality, certification opportunities, a computer lab, mentoring, scholarships and internships, and partners including Sandbacka Science Park. It points to Microsoft careers for currently advertised Sweden jobs. Advertised vacancies are a snapshot. They are not the 145 or the 561.

Microsoft’s 16 November 2021 region-opening notice names Gävle, Sandviken and Staffanstorp as the Sweden region geography. That is an opening-date source, not a 2024 headcount. Meta’s Luleå careers page and the 2011 Associated Press notice used in this register support an operational northern campus; they do not fill a 2026 staff cell on the cited pages. Fortum’s 9 September 2026 Finland notice includes Finnish nuclear-plant employment sentences. Those stay in a Finnish energy file. They are not Swedish hall jobs.

Labour objects that get added together

A municipal officer and an investment committee should not share one undifferentiated jobs inbox. Construction hours, standing employees, contractors and trainees answer different questions. A welcome from the planning desk is not a hiring plan.

Useful questions include which roles are on site every shift, which language is required, which vendor covers generators or liquid loops, and whether any figure is a projection. Useful answers attach a date and an employer. A national “Nordic DC jobs” total is not published in the sources used here.

Common misreads

The first misread is to add 145, 1,299 and 561. They are different objects and dates. The second is to treat construction-peak jobs as standing operations. The third is to copy Microsoft’s Gävleborg and Skåne figures onto Luleå, Falun or Sollefteå. The fourth is to treat an academy as a permit or a connection. The fifth is to invent a Swedish national data-center employment total from one operator PDF. The sixth is to treat a Finnish nuclear-plant headcount in a Fortum notice as a Swedish hall crew.

What to ask next

Ask the operator for the latest dated split: construction, standing employees, contractors, and trainees. Ask which roles are on every shift and which are vendor-covered. Ask whether any public figure is a projection. Ask the municipality whether a training partnership exists and what it actually guarantees.

Then open local-impact, municipal engagement and the relevant project file. If the operator will not name a number, record the gap. Do not fill it from another company’s PDF or from a national slogan.

What this does and does not prove

This page proves that one named operator published dated Swedish employment and construction-peak figures in April 2024, that a nine-month Academy exists as a Sandviken training product, and that Meta’s cited Luleå page does not store a 2026 headcount. It proves that construction, operations and training are different files.

It does not prove a Swedish or Nordic data-center employment total. It does not verify Microsoft’s figures against a payroll. It does not treat an academy graduate as hired. It does not copy Gävle numbers onto Luleå. Unknown staff cells stay unknown.
